Hi there, my boyfriend and I have 2 female spayed shorthair domestic cats that are approx. 2 years old. They were litter mates-we think they are sisters. They have lived together their whole lives and gotten along fine.
We were just woken up around midnight (few minutes ago) to a deep guttural yowling sound coming from the other room. We walked in and the orange cat (Miss Honey)was in total defense mode-arched back, fluffed out tail-looking like she was going to kill the other one. (Little Mau). Little Mau was kind of walking around normally attempting to approach miss honey, but she was in this strange freak out mode. We tried talking to her, and let her sniff us, but she wouldn't calm down. It took what seemed like a few minutes to snap her out of it. We found something strange on our floor that may have been causing this but we really weren't sure what it was. We thought it was cat feces or something, but i have no idea. Miss Honey had teeth extractions about 2 weeks ago, but has been healing up fine-no problems-almost done with antibiotics-normal appetite.
What do you think is happening? should i be worried?
