cat puke

I have a long-haired, soon-to-be 7-year-old cat. She throws up a lot. Sometimes it's a hairball but generally it's just vomit. I've learned to keep her a little bit hungry but not so much that she eats too fast when she eats again as both of these extremes cause her to get sick more. I know cats throw up but she seems to do it more than other cats I've had. She's laid back and doesn't seem psychologically damaged. Any ideas?

You might also add some probiotics to her food.  I find this very helpful for any kind of gastric distress from hairballs to indigestion to diarrhea.  I comes in liquid form and it is very easy to mix a little with canned food.

Hahaha, Opus.  Deanna, I also have a vomitter (sp? lol) and usually on the carpet.  Or stand right on the edge of the kitchen linoleum and vomit on the carpet.  I too, have to make sure Jade doesn't get too hungry, otherwise she wolfs her food and vomits.  Does your girl tend to do this more in the morning after not eating all night?

Thanks a lot!! I'll try that  with The Empress of Candler Street and see if I get to save my carpet or not. BTW, why do they always walk from tile flooring to carpet to vomit?

IMO she is has an excess of acid in her tummy. have you tried using herbs? one of the best products I have ever used for my kitties is SLIPPERY ELM BARK...by NOW FOODS(best)
Its in powder form, mix with water and give via dropper 3cc's 1-3x a day...good for tummy upsets, constipation OR diarrhea, IBS..etc.
its used for both humans and pets alike....coats and soothes the digestive tract...♥
