***Are there safe Knock-Out Pills for Cats****

Hi,

My mother has the cat from he!!.  He up every morning between 2-3:30 am.  He howls and paces the her home.  He wants food, so she feeds him !!  Then continues to howl and pace the home.  I am so disturbed over these early morning feedings and the howling.  My mother is 74 years old and needs her sleep.  this is insane!!!

Is there anything to give this cat that is "holistic" rather than narcotic.  This cat need something .  I will give him kitty valium as a Last Resort.

Does anyone experience this????

thanks,
Nautyone..........

Try Bach's Rescue Remedy, put a few drops in the water & it calms them right down, works on cats, dogs, children, husbands, etc, lol. I've used it and it's almost a sedative effect but doesn't knock them out, it just relaxes & calms.

I've noticed with our cats, if they get irritated by something we will give them some catnip and that seems to relax them.  I don't know if that would work or not?  But, it couldn't hurt to try it!  Good luck sweetie!

Love ya,
Janet

Has this cat ever been fixed? That would really help calm him down. I used to have a cat that would meow and bang on my bedroom door at night wanting to be fed. I used to cater to that and put a little dry food in her dish but I won't do that anymore. I put some in her dish right before I go to bed and that seems to satisfy her.
I don't know of any "sleep aids" you can give a cat. You can ask your vet. There are some meds, I guess, that can be given for anxiety, etc. but I think it's kind of a last resort because there's always side effects. I'd ask your vet about this and see what he suggests. Good luck!
