yes I just read her question....Maxy, meditation questions are something I really don't like to answer for 1. we/she don't really know if there is an actual infection 2. only a Vet can prescribe the right antibiotic for the appropriate bacteria, not just any antibiotic will necessarily work, and it has to be in the right strength and amount of time...usually 10 days.
3. some antibiotics will be toxic to cats 4. the size of a person is at least 10x heavier than a cat.....100 lbs vs 10 lbs so IF it HAPPENED to be the right antibiotic for the RIGHT bacteria...than the tablet would have to be cut down 10x's if given too much it could kill the cat...
so you can understand why I really don't give out medication advice to anyone
Hi CML2014,
Just finished reading your comments. Okay. So If I understand this correctly,
it is Lynn17's male cat that has the fight wounds. As Opus pointed out in
her comments, if these antibiotics are for human consumption under no
circumstances can you give a cat a person's medicine such as an antibiotic either oral or as a cream. This is why a vet needs to see this male cat with the fight wounds to assess what this kitty needs. You say Lynn17 cannot
afford a vet, but a kitty with fight wounds really needs to be seen by a vet.
Are these fight wounds bite marks or claws marks or both ? Kitty needs to
be seen by a vet in any case. This kitty is counting on help from Lynn17.
Opus is correct. Only a professional vet can assess what treatment this
cat whose been in a fight needs. We have purchased various types of
medicine for our cat over the year we've had him and they are not that
expensive.
Thank you--I will PM her. Already posted this on the original post by L
