  Hi Heather....this is an old list...please see the 2015/16 list to see if any Drs have been added since 2013/14


  Not ALL Drs on our list may be true Chiari specialists.....but members here list the names of their Drs once they have been to, treated by and liked the Dr...it is up to you to research the Dr a bit further .

Again if the Drs name is on the list a member used them and liked them, but that member may no longer be an active member.

I wanted to add to this forum after 10 weeks post-op with the doctor I listed above. I did not have a good experience as I am now having to have another decompression due to the first NS not doing everything they were supposed to and taking care of business while they were in there. I'm ticked about it really. I trusted them. But, I'm in good hands now and am looking forward to one day being normal again.

He is an excellent surgeon, staff is great.  He works out of St. Joes in Phoenix and also Chandler Regional in Chandler, AZ.   Having experience with both, I prefer Chandler.

Hi Selma,

I needed 4 surgeries because the syrinx was not responding to them. It continued to grow and make my symptoms worse in between surgeries. It just took that many to get the syrinx to begin shrinking and to get CSF flowing again. I was just a conundrum for my NS (even the neurologist who referred me to my NS said it was the worst case he'd ever seen). My NS has done a lot of decompressions over the years and  he told me that he never really saw a case like mine. He even consulted with other specialists to figure out why my body wasn't responding to surgeries. I'm just glad we got something to start working =)  The NS and his staff have really been there for me for the past 20 months during which I had all of my surgeries. I'm so glad that they stuck it out with me and worked so hard to find a solution for me. I see them again in January 2015 to check on my progress.

Hi, I didn't notice anyone listed for Virginia, so I will share my NS's info. I had 4 surgeries done by him and I recovered well from each surgery as far as my surgical site goes. I also had no complications caused by the surgery itself or his work (no meningitis, leaks, etc.). His bedside manner isn't the best (lol) but he answers questions if you ask them and explains things very well. Overall I have been happy working with him and his staff and look forward to continue working with them as I recover.
