Cervical Stenosis

Hi all my fellow Chiarians....well I have been on a rollercoaster with trying to get in to see a specialist, which my insurance continues to tell me that I can't go out of state....This really *****, so while online I come across the Wisconsin Chiari Center, and I fill out the questioner and sent in a copy of my MRI.

Well I just spoke with the nurse and she said that the Doctor said, I have cervical stenosis, narrowing of my spine and neck...and even though I had decompression in 2009 he can still see the Chiari. Now I see the importance of seeing a specialist because my PCP did tell me that I had narrowing of the spine and she said it wasn't bad...but the sad part is she said....there was no Chiari found. I am at a loss of words because now I want to know how bad the Chiari is and if a second surgery is needed because the pain in my head is really intense. I am on all type of pain meds which only mask the problem.....Do anyone have any thoughts on what I should do??????

Hi,...Chiari does not go away after surgery....so the fact they see chiari may mean they still see the herniation...that is also possible.....not all tonsils retract back up into the small space in the skull as the size of the skull has not changed and that is what makes it Chiari.

PM me about where u r looking now.....
