I had decompression surgery in 2011 at John Hopkins in Baltimore Maryland. However we just found out that one of my 3 children have Chiari. I had asked for my daughter to be referred to John Hopkins as I had an awesome experience there. (They specialize in Chiari) However, the doctor's office called me today and stated that they won't accept my insurance, so they asked if they could refer her to Dr. Jane Jr at UVA Pediatric Neurosugery, they accept my insurance. Has anyone had any positive or negative experiences with him? I know he is an awesome surgeon, but I am finding little on him performing any decompression surgeries.

  Yes I am aware of where you are....just saying I know of a Dr in FL as many  of us do travel to get to a Chiari specialist....as they are few and we are many.

You can try and  use the search this community feature to see if there are older threads that mention this Dr.....we have many members that no longer are active so looking back at an older thread may give you insight.

Thank you. I'm in VA not FL. And I am aware of the list which I have read repeatedly. I'm just looking to see if anyone has had experience with this Dr.

  Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.

  We do have a list of Drs that members have been to and liked...the best way  to find out is to read the list, Drs are listed by state and city so easy to locate.....the list is not meant as a referral but a means to help others start researching Drs .

Members can add a Dr  to the thread after they have been to, treated by and still like the Dr....

I am not familiar with that name....I do know there is a ped Chiari specialist in Orlando, FL.....not sure the status with INS...you would have to call his billing office...

If you do go see this other Dr let us know what you think <3
