Follow up

I have a follow up appointment that is slightly over 2 months post op from decompression with duraplasty but no laminectomy. I am having a c spine MRI to check how things are looking post surgery and a lumbar spine MRI to check for tethered spinal cord. I am very nervous for this appointment, so prayers and positive thoughts would be greatly appreciated! I am hoping I do not have to have another surgery for the spinal cord... but we will just have to cross that bridge when we come to next Monday! How many follow up appointments and MRI's have you guys had to do post op?

I am also starting to get my dysautonomia/POTS under control which is a HUGE relief. Thank you all for all of your support and encouragement through this entire process!

Congratulations !! and thanks for the update.

Sorry u r not happy with the follow up visits.

Have they ruled out EDS< as I know that can affect u  that u might have this lower back pain, and could be the reason u have the scoliosis. Just a thought.

Thank you all for your answers! The follow up went well today for the most part. I do NOT have a tethered cord and all other aspects of my lumbar MRI were good :) we are not sure what the cause of the moderate low back pain is, but are guessing it is from the mild scoliosis and I just need to exercise more to strengthen muscles. This is complicated by the dysautonomia so we will have to figure that out, but it is really not that bothersome.

The cervical also looked good and Csf flow looks better :) I am/did reject a stitch from under my skin so we are praying that is the only one or I have to go back.

Other than that he completely released me and said I don't need any more MRI's or follow ups unless I start going down hill. He was a fantastic surgeon, but I have not been satisfied with the follow up. For now I am just going to enjoy being doctor free until I may need to reasses in the future :)

Hi good luck and well wishes and good thoughts u way for ur visit.

We all will have diff amounts of post op visits, it all depends on the Dr and how u r doing...I did not have a MRI until I was 1 yr post op....I had a CT at 6 months....

Since u do have other issues this is most likely y ur Dr is doing it this way...as I said we r all diff and this post op journey will differ from person to person too.
