I went on a full liquid diet once with the a dietician. It was to see if the vomiting would stop. It actually stopped. We kept me on it for 3 or so months using carnation instant breakfast to replace the protein. I finally gave in and went back to eating solids and the vomiting returned. It did prove that my health problems weren't psychological, but convincing the doctors was still impossible. :( If it was psychological a full liquid diet wouldn't have stopped the vomiting. I have still incorporated the foods that worked into my diet but now it is every 3 weeks no matter what I eat. :( At least it's not every day. :)
I am starting a detox cleanse this week as I can not deal with the weight I have put on. I have a coach helping me and discussed in length health concerns so going slow and easy but looking forward to having more energy and feeling better about myself. I did one before my dx when I had symptoms and it didn't make it worse. Will let you know how it goes.
I tried a few yrs back with fruit smoothies and eating meals alternating protein as my main part of the meal and then the next would be carbs....
I too was told more, but smaller meals....lol...that is for the GERD....but, we can not starve or cut out meals...as our body stores fat thinking it may starve, so it is counterproductive.....we have to eat in order to lose....just sensibly.
Selma that is the same fear that I have. What I may do, is just make sure to also eat small meals with my meds. Or, I can do what I know works....slim fast shakes two times a day and good sensibel meal for dinnner. I honestly think that it is more the feeling bad and not being as active as normal that has me gaining weight. i just dont think that I want to go so extreme while dealing with everything else I have going on. I think that it would just be impossible for me too do anyway.
I know that it is healthy to do, but Ijust dont think that it is healthy for "us". Now, for someone that is really overweight and in desperate need of a lifestyle change, I have seen it work miracles. I just dont think it is the best option for me. Thank you all for your input...it is much appreciated.
I mean u can try a 3days detox...but be careful as everything is affecting us too much.sunce my symptom flare up not eating regularly or drinking makes my body sending out warning signs!!!the meds are a mess.i was put on lyrica and was waking up eating at night!!!! I sometimes do that, but not with this massive hole in my stomache.i just dropped it as it didnt help me for nothing plus i gained weight looking at food...take care honey
I have not tried this...am looking into raspberry keytones....they r supposed to be safe....
These fast diets I do not feel r the best route to take especially with everything else we have going on.....JMHO
Actually, I have tried a LOT of different fasts over the years, and the most comfortable and most effective I've ever done is the "lemonade fast", or "lemonade diet." You can google it and get the recipe...It's amazing, and weight comes off really fast. I have a low blood sugar problem, but did not have problems on this fast.
