neurologists in San Antonio TX

I have a 12 year grandson needing a Chiari Decompression surgery.  Has anyone ever used a neurologist in San Antonio TX for this surgery.

Need some good advice on a doctor, very concerned about this surgery.

Thx for any advice anyone can give.

If you are associated with the military I just had decompression surgery at the San Antonio Military Medical Center, Dr. Joseph Hobbs, excellent neurosurgeon.

Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.

To locate a Dr that is a true Chiari specialist u will want a neurosurgeon*, not a neurologist**....the NL** is the one that DX's the condition and a NS* does the surgery.

We do have a list of Drs that members here have been to and liked, u do have to research the Drs as this list is not a referral nor does it mean that they r all true Chiari specialists...u will also have to find out which ones for ur state treat children...not all will...and u may find u have to travel, many of us do.

The best thing is to educate urself so u know when u find that right Dr.
