surgery date...

i've been awol for a bit.....sorry about that, but it couldn't be helped.  things have been a bit rough as of late.  Christmas, however, was a wonderful and peaceful day!  i have great hope that the new year will bring good things for me and my family and i hope it does the same for all of you!  i am scheduled for surgery on 1/3/11 at the university of maryland with dr. charles sansur.  this surgery is to repair or remove the titanium plate put in by dr heffez on 11/23/09 which has detached from my skull and is causing a lot of pain.  although dr h has seen the xrays, he says what i am seeing is an optical illusion and there is nothing wrong.  all the other drs i have seen do not agree with this, as it is apparent from the june xrays and current xrays there is movement of the plate and it is now 5mm away from my skull and "poking" c-1 every time i move my head/neck.  i have decided to go with the majority and have the surgery.  i guess we'll know the whole story once my new dr gets inside my head.  so...wish me luck!  hope you all have a fabulous new year and that the majority of your days will be pain and worry free!

Hi Lizzy, I was MIA during Christmas but I did get a PM from a mutual friend to say your surgery was postponed, sorry to hear this but I know the Dr's had good reason. Have you any updates?

Really sorry you are unwell, such a shame when these things happen, you get yourself all prepared then bam!!!

UPDATE!  my surgery has been postponed due to a really nasty sinus infection that decided to pay me a visit.  they say everything happens for a reason, so we will see what comes of this development!  will let you all know when the new date is.  hope that 2011 is better for our health, happiness and well being, my friends!  love to you all and happy new year!!!
