Post surgery pain and spasms on left side

I had my surgery on Oct.  2nd and I and having problems on the left side of my head and neck.  No pain at all on the right. The pain is at the top right side of head and the left side of my neck.  Everytime i get up and do anything it starts burning and hurting no matter how I hold or move my neck.  If i turn to the right it pulls and burns really bad.  The only thing to stop it is to lay down and then i have spasms for a bit.  Has anyone else had this?

Thanks
Wanda

Nerves can cause symptoms like that, if that is what it is from, I have no idea either.....have u been weening off ur pain meds? Could be u feel that as a result of stepping off of them.....

Do contact ur Dr and let us know what u find out.

No I was not dx with EDS. I just hope there is nothing wrong.  I know he found a bunch of blood vessels that were all tangled and he cleaned them out but I dont know where those were. and dont know if that would cause this kind of burning and stabbing pain.

It's always a good idea to let your Dr know what's going on just incase you need to be seen. Better to be on the safe side with neuro. I sent you a pm. Hope you fell better soon :-) Lisa

Hi Wanda, so sorry u r having issues post op.....u r only a few weeks post op....

It is possible for the muscles to get tight post op as u heal, so it is very important to move/exercise ur neck to help prevent scar tissue from forming and  the muscles getting tight....

The spasms are not uncommon, again u healing and u will feel these odd sensations....the fact u have to lay down to calm it down, is a bit dis-concerning....refresh my memory were u DX with EDS?.....I am wondering if u might have cerivocranial instability which can worsen after decompression. And makes sense with the way u describe it...
