Symptoms really picking up

Hi everyone, I was diagnosed with this condition about five years ago, I am now a 36 year old male and I'm posting this because my symptoms have been getting much worse. For beginners, I have a brutal case of Tinnitus in my left ear. my neck is constantly stiff and I feel a pressure building from my neck to the crown of my head. To make matters worse, my eyes hurt when reading, even with my glasses on. My wrists, fingers, knee joints and feet are constantly sore. I have been downing 3 vicodins a day to deal with the pain and I'm having a very difficult time sleeping at night since the pain keeps me awake - The only time I can get sleep is in the morning when it's time to go to work. Any suggestions on treatment (self or otherwise) would be so much appreciated. Thank you, Scott

U r welcome....it doesn't mean since u didn't have the symptoms to report back then that u didn't have the issues. The symptoms  can cycle and come at different times so no one connects the dots and realizes that all the issues r related.

Keep us posted and know we r here if u just need to vent concerns or if u have more questions : )]

Thanks so much for the reply. When I was diagnosed with Chiari, they said I did not have any other issues associated with the condition so they didn't treat it as being very serious. Recently, I started seeing a Chiropractor and I told him that I didn't want my neck cracked (I had heard that it was bad to have a chiro crack your neck with Chiari), but the guy talked me into it and I've been in pain ever since. I can't tell you how peeved I am about that. Anyway, I will make an appointment with my Doc to get the blood work done and update you on my progress. Thanks again.

Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.

Scott have u been checked for chiari related issues like tethered cord, syringomyelia, pusedotumor cerebri? And then there r autoimmune issues like DDD, hashimoto's, ehlers-danlos, and RA..which either of the last 2 could  explain the joint pain.

I also had the same issue, lie awake all night no matter how tired, but as soon as it is time to get up, then I am sleeping and could sleep all day....Murphey's law.

Some have gotten some relief from a acupuncturist.

I do suggest u get bloodwork done to make sure all ur vitamin and mineral levels r where they should be.
