Tomorrow I am going to Disneyland...yeeaaaahhhh!  Do you think going on rollercoasters is a good idea?  Maybe I should just avoid the jerky ones?

I to love roller coasters, I use to ride them with my little girl she loves them too.
This summer we went to Santa Claus IN and I did not know I had Chiari at that time, but I did have problems with my neck, so I stayed off the rollercoasters, and I was bumed out.
In my opinon you would be OK with a ride that wasn't jerking you around or upsidedown, or going at a rediculous speed, i know that rules out alot of them, but there are usually always a few calm rides that can still be enjoyed.
I have not been to Disney, but I am sure it will be alot of fun, no matter what you ride.
Hope you have a great time!!

How much pain do you want to leave in?  I agree with pp's....I am sure they'd be lots of fun, but probably not worth all of the pain. :^(

I am sorry!  I know it stinks but I agree with selma!  I have heard that rollercoasters can cause problems for Chiari.  Plus- almost all those rides have warnings that say if you have head, neck, back problems....don't ride!  Well- that would include us!  A couple of months ago my husband and I took our girls to Holiday World in Santa Claus Indiana- I didn't ride any of the major rides cause I was scared to.  There were two rides that I thought I could safely ride- like a log ride and a water raft ride.  BOTH rides jerked around enough that it made my neck hurt.  So- it's sad to say- but I don't know if I would ride any!  Even the ones that seem to not jerk- may hurt you!  Its of course up to you- but I wanted to share my two cents worth!  :)  Have a great trip and a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday!

There r reports they say rollercoasters can cause an asymptomactic chiari to become symptomactic.....I would avoid them....sorry and I love roller coasters......add the loops and all, but I have not been tempted.....it can also be the pressure form the speed u r traveling.....I know airplanes can have an affect as well......sorry, really not sure what to say, but better safe than sorry! :(
