Yep Selma-
sloppy joes freeze well, as does chili (although you may not want chili in the summer time) sausage also freezes well
you can take sausage, cut them in about 1 inch slices throw in crock pot add 3-5 peeled and diced medium potatoes, 3-5 cleaned and sliced carrots, 2 stalks celery cleaned and sliced, 1 medium onion peeled and coursely chopped. add about 1 1/2 cups water turn on the pot and let it cook til potatoes and carrots are JUST soft (a little under completely soft that way when u reheat they wont be mushy). remove from heat let cool and place inside containers and freeze....................OR sausage cooked/seared add 2 peppers sliced 1 med onion peeled and sliced pour over top spaghetti sauce and simmer til peppers are tender remove from heat cool slighly and place into containers for freezing,(you will need steak or hoagie rolls for this tho-- or you can serve it over pasta) Ummmmm cabbage soup??,pork and sauerkraut, pork BBQ,
really?...I was not aware it was so regional....lol.....

This is a great post! I am a horrible cook! I will need things that I can do quickly for me and my 2yr old after my surgery. Can any of you guys put the recipes on here?
Ok I've never even had Halupkies! Southern girl here lol I've got a chicken casserole that will probably do good, I've just never tried to freeze it before.
I have a good Halupkies recipe if u need one Shannon!!!
Yeah, noodles don't freeze well in an ordinary freezer....we don't have the ability to flash freeze like the big company's making frozen dinners...lol.....
chicken soup freezes well too but when i make it i do not usually add the noodles to stuff iam freezing- i make the noodles when we have the soup.
halupkies (stuffed cabbage),and stuffed peppers also freeze well
Sorry, I meant to add...when you freeze it, cover it with plastic wrap AND put it in a ziploc freezer bag if possible and then you will have no freezer burnt food!
What I find freezes well is def meatloaf, lasgna, stew, shepherds pie, chili, soup...
Let me know what you would like recipes for :)
Carolyn
