Hello again. You sound like me. I have to research everything that is diagnosed- or even something that shows on an MRI that may not be developed enough to warrant surgery. Keep track of the sources of all the information you gather. Just recently, I found some information about a "Grabb-Oakes measurement" in relation to my C1 and C2. I cannot find it. I cannot remember what search terms I entered. Of course, I am going crazy searching but cannot seem to find the specific place. Try to document everything for yourself. So you can return to it. Good luck and keep posting about this thread so we can know what is happening.
You are right! Thanks alot!
Anything is possible....do you have a sacral dimple?.....
Or an elongated brain stem? These can indicate tethered cord....as TC can not always be seen on a MRI....
I would think if this was a possibility your Dr would have said something to you...
I think so I had a Mri of my whole back
I was trying to figure out reasons for my back pain , hip pain, and leg pain numbness. I looked at my mri and it says I have tiny vertebral body hemangiomas or lipomas. So I Google and it says possible tethered cord?
Tethered Cord is where there is a fatty lipoma and the cord attaches there....
It can be congenital, or from an injury or scar tissue after a surgery that can cause the cord to tether .
I do have tethered cord....and I have not had the release surgery as I know it can re-tether due to the scar tissue and for now it is not bothersome enuff to have surgery.
Didn't they rule it out for you?
What about tethered cord?
A lipoma ca be described as a fatty tumor or cyst that can be slow growing btwn the skin and muscle.....
These fatty growths are common in those with EDS.
