Does anyone else think that the doctor that responds to questions regarding older children dedicating themselves completely misses the mark EVERY time?! I was just reading some older posts about this issue because my husband and I are at our wits end and we are looking for help. This one person wrote in about his/her son's problem (which sounded so similar to us we could've written it). Anyway, the person goes on to describe going to a specialist to see if there any physical problems and implementing a reward system. Then Dr. Kevin Kennedy then responds by saying the parent should take the child to the doctor to rule out physical issues and to implement a rewards system. Did you even read the post?! We are on here to find answers to very frustrating/scary problems and we have to deal with the frustration of someone not even paying attention to us?! You're supposed to be an expert and you're supposed to help. If you don't have any ideas at least say "I don't know, it sounds like you're doing everything right. I know it's hard. It may help to find a professional to talk to to deal with your frustration." Don't give a blanket answer. If you don't have enough time to read these posts, then get a colleague to help you.
