2 year old rubbing problem

I have a two year old grand daughter that has a funny little habit. For about the last 2 months she rubs herself down below, especially when she is tired.Sometimes she is really red & sore from it & she works up a sweat. She has been to pediatricians about it & she has been treated for yeast infections, urinary tract infections & also pin worms. The last doc' we saw started to get frustrated with us coming back, but he should think how frustrating this is for us. It is very unlikely that she has been abused in any way as Mum & Dad watch her very closely & she isn't left with anyone other than her aunt who has a little girl the same age & the whole family are very close.Any light on the subject would be a big help, thanks in advance.

Thank you, I agree & will make that suggestion to her parents, the fact that she is only 2 bothers me also

I think you should see someone else this is behavior in a young child that needs addressing,I think you need to observe more and ask a councillor about this ,she is only 2 year old.

Thank you so much, I know that her Mum & Dad are getting very frustrated with the doctors as they have just about covered anything medically being wrong & have started to make them feel like they are an annoyance. I appreciate your answer.

I just added a similar post about my 3 year old daughter.  I felt so much better when I read a thread on this web site from 2003 regarding a little girl that rub herself also......the doctor said is was typical development!!  Many commented that they agreed with this being normal for this age as it was typical sexual development.
