Bad behavior!!

My 14 month old is very rebellious.  If we tell him not to do something and remove him from that area, he throws a fit!! He will bite his hand very hard and hit his head on the floor.  Is that normal??  If we tell him to stop, he will, but will then start crying.  Also, he will do the same thing if he gets really excited and cant control his excitment.  Does this mean there is a bigger problem going on??

Your son is perfectly normal. My nephew is 19 months and still butss his head and throws fits when told no. It's all part of the development stage. Both my kids did it as well. Don't worry, this to will pass. Then he will be onto another stage.

I doubt if there is a bigger problem going on.  Your son is a baby - his actions are those of a baby.  Of course he reacts when "no" is said - he doesn't like it but that is part of growing from a baby into a little boy.  He is learning that the world does not revolve around him and he doesn't like it (after all, for the first year of his life it did).  I wish I knew a good book to suggest for the development of toddlers, but I don't.  Perhaps someone else on this forum might be able to offer a suggestion.
