10 month old said to have "worst temper ever'

My 10 month old goes to daycare during the day while my husband and I are at work.  I have been told by daycare workers that he has the worst temper for a 10 month old they have ever seen.  He as recently started hitting, throwing things, and huffing (making an angry face and breathing loudly through his nose).  He will also arch his back, throw his head back and scream.  I am  not sure where he is getting this from my husband and I do not fight often, we do not scream at each other, and we DO NOT hit.
We have tried to stop these behaviors by saying "No".  Often if he hits me while I am holding him I will put him down and walk away.  Are we approaching this correctly?  Is there something else we can do?

I totally agree with the above post  your child is very young to be in day care he probably misses you, and it sounds like the day care isnt doing its job too well, maybe your child is not getting much attention It is the daycare that has the problem not a 10 month old .

Hi, I am having a hard time reading that they labeled your 10 month old "worst temper ever". I have worked in daycare's for many years and have never labeled a baby with the worst temper ever! He is a baby and probably is not getting the attention that he needs from the daycare! Does he act out only at daycare or at home too? If it's only at daycare then I would think they are not giving him enough attention, at the daycare's I have worked at I see sometimes in an infant room the teacher or teachers are quite overwhelmed and since your child has been labeled "worst temper ever" they might be standoffish with him, and baby's will sense that! I re-read and seen that he hits you, you tell him no that is good and maybe you can put him down and walk away from him when he decides to act out. There are some children that need more attention then others and the teachers should be able to accommodate this by taking an extra 15 to 20 minute alone time with him. Thats what I have done in the past. Please keep me posted on how things work out...Michelle
