Let's talk SPD.....is it sensory or is it bevavior?

7 year old daughter with explosive rage at home--inability to regulate emotions--has had public outbursts but mostly at home it is problematic. Shrink headed towards BPolar and i don't see it. Triggers are frustration or when i ask her to be flexible in her dressing (loves her favorite clothes and won't wear too many different things).....she is going to a CBT but i am not sure she is very good.....wanting to start up OT again but having hard time arranging that and i just bought several sensory things for her sensory tool kit at home.  I feel like no professionals really 'get' this SPD and certainly not the renowned psychiatrist we are seeing.

Her school work is fine--not great--not poor--she does not have ADD--tested already and no LD's b/c tested there as well. i wuld say she is tactile defensive and a proprioceptive seeker--some ocd/repetitive behaviors and separation anxiety and fears which come and go.....

can anyone here relate?

Is she on any meds, does it matter as lot if she isnt flexible on what she wears,I know a few kids wear 'favorite 'clothes but they havent been labeled for it, what would happen if you backed off a bit and allowed some of her behaviors ?
