We had great success with swaddling our babies very tightly. It helps them feel secure and it's tight like it was in the womb.
And don't wash the blanket you swaddle them in very often. They like to have their smell and yours surrounding them.
oops- i meant sleep positioner in the bassinet. it did fit in there.
this is very normal.
What helped me tremendously was placing a sleep positioner in the crib. I didn't use it because of worry about her rolling over or sids or anything- i used it because it cradled her body and helped her feel more secure. It worked wonderfully. It wasn't fancy- just the cheap $10 kind.
Some parents have success by swaddling tightly- you can try that as well. ANother thing that helped me a lot was that my bassinet had a vibrate feature. This worked very well if she woke during the night. If your bassinet doesn't have a vibrate feature, you can try gently shaking the bassinet or rocking it back and forth.
Good luck!
and congratulations on her birth....
Try putting her into the bassinet before she falls asleep and let her cry a little, hard I know, obviously at this age I dont mean to the extent of her yelling. What is happening is she is not able to fall asleep herself and this will continue and get into being a habit so sooner or later you will still have to address it, when she has finished feeding place her into the basinet , soothe her back so she knows you are there, then let her fall asleep.
