Hello and welcome to medhelp.  Thanks for stopping in.  This is a great place to connect to others and ask any type of health question anonymously and we have over 200 forums.  Hope you come back for your health care needs.

Regarding cholesterol and foods to lower LDL, lets discuss first the basics of cholesterol.  Your total cholesterol is a ration between bad (ldl) and good (hdl).  You can lower your total cholesterol by increasing your HDL.  Do this through exercise.  Moderate exercise 5 times a week for at least thirty minutes is proven to work for most.   The following link will take you to a slide show of foods to help lower LDL. https://www.webmd.com/cholesterol-management/ss/slideshow-cholesterol-lowering-foods

Dark chocolate when you have a craving for something chocolate. Avocados are excellent for lowering LDL cholesterol. Red wine (not too much). A cup of black or green tea. Unsalted or lightly salted almonds. Whole grains. Fish like salmon. Use olive oil instead of other choices. Beans are a good choice too!

You can still have an excellent and flavorful meal while keeping options for lowering cholesterol in mind.  We also have a healthy cooking forum. Find it under communities on full site.
