Effects of heart attack on ldl cholesterol

I recently (7/01/06) had a mild heart attack (first). On 3/25/16 my LDL (direct) was 165mg/dl. In the hospital, they drew my blood (7/02/16) and my LDL (direct) was 134. I was told that the heart attack could be the reason for the decrease. I have never heard that and have not been able to verify. Is it true? All I have been able to confirm is that stress can lead to an increase in cholesterol.
