Somehow, you got blood clots.  Did you have A-Fib?  Blood clots and cholesterol aren't necessarily related issues, however.  Certainly, excessive amounts of Coumadin are dangerous. I'm not sure what you meant in your last sentence, was it posted to scare people taking and benefiting from the drug?   How can excessive amounts of Coumadin be compared to the healing properties of the drug, and how does Coumadin enter into a conversation of high saturated fat?  From what I know, and I'm not a health professional, usually Plavix and aspirin are administered for high cholesterol levels, and Coumadin is administered for blood clotting issues.

I know I all about Willow Bark and read just about everything on alternative and complementary meds. The filter is for the clots if any start to travel. It's inserted through the groin and into the large vein in the abdomen that returns blood from the lower body to the heart. It's permanently implanted.  You know when they did the MRV and Doppler on me and said I had clots I pictured a little blood clot. But that's not the case the clot went just about the length of my legs that's about 7 years ago. About 6 months ago they said the clot in my left side is about 5"  long and the right side about 3". The body in time will absorb the clots. As for the rat poison Coumadin is put into rat bait so when they eat the bait they will bleed to death. I guess if it's good enough for rats it's good enough for humans.

The obesity and diabetes epidemic isn't just skyrocketing in humans but in animals. For the same reason - a high carb diet.

A great quote from Dr Lustig from his video Sugar The Bitter Truth...

"...obesity, metabolic syndrome, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, cardiovascular disease, stroke prevalence all jacked way up as our total fat consumption as a percent has gone down. It ain't the fat people. It ain't the fat. So what is it? Well, it's the carbohydrate."

I do know everyone is different.  There is a genetic factor with cholesterol, certainly, but also a dietary cause of high cholesterol.  Diabetes, body fat, exercise is also critical.
Somehow my response morphed into a different topic, aspirin.  Why in the world are blood filters and rat poison mixed in your treatment?  Please explain to add credence to your post.  I'd suggest you read the hx of the manufacture of aspirin, it comes from ancient knowledge that Willow trees relieved headaches and chest pressure.
Red star, I'm glad your cat is better, but cat metabolism is very different from homo sapien needs.

Brain Grain is how I figured out what was causing my cat's dementia symptoms~! I cut out my cat's carbs immediately and my cat's dementia symptoms improved drastically (only some mild behavioural issues remaining), she lost weight, her appetite improved, no more severely itchy face/facial scabs, more energy - my cat is playing like a kitten and my cat is 14 years old! So glad that book came out. I have my cat back. :)

I do understand what you're saying and as you know everyone is different!
I'm just passing information along. My mother In law had Cholesterol off the charts and never had a problem. She died at 90 from cancer. I eat just about everything my Chol. Is normal. But at the age of 61 I had brain surgery because I had a brain tumor removed and two weeks later I had 3 clots in my left lung and 2 in the right lung. What the doctor found out was that I have 2 genetic factors for have blood clots. After being treated somewhat they said I should be on an aspirin therapy I said I don't have heart problems and that aspirin can cause bleeding and a stroke. The Dr. said you're going on the aspirin and with that 2 weeks later I had 4 clots 2 in each leg. So a long story short I have a filter in me and I take rat poison to keep my blood flowing. I try not to eat anything that contains vitamin K
And try to supplement with things that thin the blood.

I do understand your question, as I doubted the scientific data supporting that high fat can cause a buildup of Cholesterol in your heart and other arteries when in my early 50's.  At age 59 I had a heart attack and saw the buildup of cholesterol that caused the heart attack, and reality therapy kicked in at once!

I'm a big believer now in Statins and a low saturated fat diet, they saved my life.  It is interesting that the biggest advocates on this board of high fat haven't yet had a cadiac event.  Research searches on the internet are easy, but having stents and by-pass surgery is infinitely more difficult.  I was a gym rat and strength guy like you until I had my reality therapy.
