Sending good vibes Darbie's way on Thursday's tests. The waiting for results is awful!! Here's hoping the numbers go down!!
Regards,
Charlene
Oliver and I sending you good energy. We know the feeling too well.
Oliver sends hugs.
Darbie's blood work showed great improvement!!
CREA = 5.4 ( from 7.6 )
BUN = 51 ( from 103 )
All other numbers fell into the normal range:)!!!
THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!
TONY!..You saved Darbie's life and I can't thank you enough... Everyone says I'm doing a great job, which I appreciate, but your sound advice, reading your articles and your constant support proves that something is working here!! Dr. Vet was shocked at Darbie's #'s after 1 month!
I am more hopeful that Darbie's #'s will continue to lower and stabilize where she can thrive happily for years to come:)
Charlene ( Sammie ) & Elsa ( Oscar ) ...Thanks for your great vibes and energy!
God Bless our Babies!
Lynne & Darbie:)
SUCH AWESOME NEWS!!!!! This made my whole day. Tony has become our hero but some people wouldn't take the time to do what needs to be done. Thank goodness we found Tony and thank goodness you took his advice to heart. You are such a great Mom and Darbie must be wagging her tail off!!!
Bonnie, Sammie and I send hugs and congraulations!!
Regards,
Charlene
Lynne. You are very kind. It's not me that saved Darbie's life ... it's you, your hard work, your care and attention, and your love for Darbie. The numbers are great. I'm so pleased. It's made my day.
Tony x
Yay!!
Pawsome news as Oliver would say !!!!
Very happy.
TO ALL, Thank You for your kindness!! Darbie sends great smiles and thunderous tail wags!
This is truly a game changer! It does take a leap of faith to think outside the box...Darbie is proof of that:)
Tony, I was able to switch Darbie to a smaller needle from
(16 gauge to18 ) which has made a great difference. It's more comfortable and the IV fluid seems to flow faster.
Very curious as I have been researching oral hydration therapies online. There is a "new" product coming here from the U.K. called ORALADE. A U.S. pharmaceutical company recently picked it up an will start distributing thru veterinary practices. Are you familiar and would this be a good supplement for CKD if water intake slows down? She manages watered down ( unsalted ) chicken stock, but I like the idea of the electrolytes and other nutrients.
Thanks for your help,
Lynne & Darbie
Hi Lynne. That's great about the smaller needle - they ARE better and much easier. I have heard of ORALADE. A U.S., though I haven't really heard anything from a reputable clinical source to say whether it's good or not. I do know the product has salt in it, which slightly concerns me in the case of kidney failure dogs - though I can understand why the salt content would be useful for severely dehydrated dogs (when dogs are dehydrated, they usually have a depletion of salt). Their website doesn't say anything about it's potential use in kidney failure, so this may be something your vet would be better answering. I would go to the ORALADE. A U.S. website, print off some of the info available there and take this to your vet for him to advise.
Tony
Actually, not comfortable if you are not familiar... I do not want to test any
product with even a fraction of " leap of faith"...
Thanks for your help. I will continue to look into this product first and foremost as I don't want vet to push on me:)
I strive to keep Darbie healthy, but I know I have better venues that won't compromise the mortgage of my house:)
Very Truly,
Lynne & Darbie
Hi Lynne. Just out of interest, I have written to the manufacturers of Oracle to ask some pertinent questions on your behalf (and for me and everyone else here too). If they reply, I'll post what they tell me.
Tony
Good news on recent numbers.
