How long does one have with copd/asthuma?

Unfortunately COPD and asthma are chronic diseases.  They never go away.  They can be well managed to have minimal affect on the quality of life.  Identifying triggers and avoiding them is the primary treatment.  Many patients require medications like inhaled corticosteroids.  Other medications may be layer on after thatn.  A patient may take several medss to control triggers as well like allergy and GERD medications.

COPD- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
            CHRONIC- being the main word(persistent and lasting disease)
COPD is uncommon to people under the age of 40 and then is progressive

Asthma: Chronic Inflammation disease, the airways contsrict. These disease can be managed and a child can grow out of this. Both of these can an undertermined amount of time in a person.
