Alternate treatments for cirrhosis of the liver

My mother is 64 and was diagnosed with cirrhosis 2  years ago due to fatty liver. Dr. said only cure is a liver transplant but that is out of reach for us. I live in the US but she lives in Honduras. Has someone heard of YHK therapy? Does it work? It's very expensive but cheaper than a transplant. Any other effective treatment available out there? All advice are welcome, Thank you  all for your time

I found this information online about a transplant center in Indiana that does transplants for international patients.

Don't know if that would be an option for you or not. If your Mom has been told that she  needs a transplant, then my advice is to focus your efforts on finding a way for her to get it.

I wish you and your Mom the best going forward.  I so sorry you and she are going through this.

Hi

If the herbal treatment you listed worked none of us would be here with our present health concerns.

If your mom has been diagnosed with cirrhosis she needs to be under the care of a hepatologist at a hospital liver transplant department to be evaluated for transplant and to have her health monitored. She should be having at a minimum blood tests every six months and an abdominal ultrasound to check for the possibility of liver cancer. People with cirrhosis are at increased risk of developing liver cancer. Also she needs to have an upper endoscopy to check for esophageal varicies (enlarged blood vessels inside the throat) and if she has them she needs to be treated with either medicine or possibly have them banded to prevent the possibility of a serious life threatening bleeding event.

Cirrhosis is a serious life threatening medical condition. There are ways to get help with the cost of a transplant. Your best bet would be to contact a hospital liver transplant department and ask for help and guidance. Also others here who are much more knowledgable than me will be able to offer ideas about your mom's situation.

Good luck to you and your mom. Please try to find a way to get her the help she needs.
