Low Sodium in Cirrhosis and Low Magnesium

Not much of a question but my mom who has a MELD of 21 had been having lots of confusion/memory issues which I thought was related to HE and possibly Welks Disease (pickled brain from drinking alcohol).

As it turns out a kidney specialist followed her case this last hospital stay and her sodium has been consistently low over the past 7 months (since diagnoses)  Apparently, low sodium isn't that uncommon in Chirrosis...so most of the hospitalists didn't pay attention....

Literally a salt tablet is all it took to help her memory and cognition.  In addition, she has had low magnesium which has caused a lot of tremors/spasms which we thought was related to an autoimmune disorder - not the case.

Just wanted to post this info somewhere as it may help out others.

I'm disappointed in the level of care my mom has been receiving where we live and I'm now trying to see about other options.
