Frequent & Prolonged Dry Cough Sore Throat

Hi All - glad to join this forum and happy to see the help that is being provided.

I am 31 M, and get sore throat and dry cough very often (3+ times / yr). The dry cough lasts for 3 to 4 weeks and taking medication or salt water gargle does not help.
I am not able to enjoy cold beverages and ice cream due to the constant risk of getting cough.
Can experts here suggest on what I can do to improve the situation?
Feel free to ask questions, if any?
