What type of virus

My daughter and I ran a fever between 101-102 for two days, had achy legs and back, and a dry deep cough.  Then when the fever went down between 99-100 started getting runny nose.  Strep came back negative so did rapid flu test.  Doctor said its just a virus to let it run its course.  My question is does anyone know the name of what type of virus this is?  It seems a little bit worse than just a regular cold.

Like 4 years ago I had this aweful flu. Lasted like 3 weeks. I was glad I wasn't working at the time. I had to have some care for my son for a few days cause I couldn't get out of bed. I'm sure it's just some type of flu virus. Drink alot of liquids. and TRY to eat when you can.

Well I'm still sick starting to feel better but still so weak.  Today is first day without any type of fever.  I finally was able to eat a little.  Ended up at doctor yesterday and I have low WBC which he said indicates a viral infection but with my symptoms it sounded like flu.  It has been awful!

My guess is that they can't test for every flu. So it COULD just be that. Could just be a BAD cold virus too.
