Dystonic reaction damaged TMJ

I had a Dystonic reaction to Maxolon about three years ago. It caused every muscle in my body to go into spasm. It went on for three days undiagnosed.
It happened after surgery for a Hernia repair, I was placed on painkillers & Maxolon to stop me been sick. My jaw clenched so tight it felt and sounded like my teeth were breaking. My Jaw was so tight and there was so much pain just beside and below the ear on both sides.
I did this and things got worse to the point I could not move, it took me hours to move a few meters. My jaw would lock shut and I would feel pain in sides of face and jaw area and up from TMJ into skull running up beside the ears.
When jaw was clenched shut it felt like my teeth were breaking or cracking you could here a crashing sound. After been like this for three days I struggled to the phone and called my sister who told me to get an ambulance and sent my nephew over to be with me. Then for no reason my jaw locked open and I was sitting with mouth wide open.
.
I was told I was having a Dystonic reaction to the maxolon and they would treat it.
I was given Cogentin
However since then I have had dizzy spells feelings of been spaced out and Vision is blurry and neck back mid and lower really sore, I don’t sleep well like i use to and have tingling  in hands and fingers  when doing things like driving or watching TV I even wake in the night with hands tingling. I have had investigation into a pinched nerve causing this but it came back as normal. My back teeth are also now loose and have had a wisdom tooth lower removed as it became so loose it was getting an infection under it.
Do you think the above could be related to the TMJ joint and Dystoinc reaction?
I have seen doctors and specialists like Neuro surgeons and had no luck
Can you please give me some feed back on this as at the moment I’m living with all these problems yet no one can help. Then I seen your article and well it gives me a glimmer of hope.

Yes it is very possible, but it isn't the TMJ that is causing it. It is due to a malpositioned jaw and hyperactive/fatigued muscles, this all falls under TMD. If you can have a consultation with a TMJ expert. Make sure you tell him/her about the meds you have taken and taking.

Dear Ramin

Doctors have already confirmed that I have damaged my tmj joints and that is because of the strain on these joints during the Dystonic reaction.

I read an articel in a journal on here about how the damage of the TMJ joint can give

Headache
Vertigo
Blurred vison
Neck and back pain
Caused by teeth to become losse and this was confirmed by a Maxofaicle surgon and dentist in New Zealand where I live.

Can you let me know if a damaged TMJ joint can cause Virtgo headaches etc??

Dear Steve,
Maxolon contains the active ingredient metoclopramide hydrochloride, which is a type of medicine called a dopamine antagonist. It works primarily by blocking dopamine receptors found in an area of the brain known as the chemoreceptor trigger zone. Metoclopramide also acts in enhancing the action of a natural chemical called acetylcholine. Increasing the action of acetylcholine results in the tightening of the muscles.
You are right the medication leading to a Dystonic reaction, but Dystonic reactions are rarely life threatening, yet are very uncomfortable and often produce significant anxiety and distress for patients.
I am not sure it is causing any TMJ issues. Lets put is that way it is not the cause for TMJ. Dystonic reactions (ie, dyskinesias) are characterized by intermittent spasmodic or sustained involuntary contractions of muscles in the face, neck, etc. Which can mimic the symptoms of TMD. I am not ruling out TMJ/TMD, therefore I recommend that you have a consultation with a TMJ expert in your area by visiting www.top3dentist.com click on TMJ or Neuromuscular Dentist, enter your zip code and you should be able to find someone.
