hd2
My husband has had heart problems going back 15 years started with a silent heart attack. He has had 4 stents, aorta valve replace, has a ICD inplanted. He is 72 years old, and is not able to walk very far (dose good in grocery store with basket). started to retain fliuds. ect. He takes his blood pressure bill when his blood pressure in very high same with water pill. He is good with all the other meds he is on. I guess what I'm wondering is what the future holds for us I see him getting weaker.  More visit to Doctors but no hospital in over 6 months. Sorry about writing so much I know you all know there is so much more to it.  Thanks

Hi,
The symptoms that you have mentioned could be due to heart failure or other related situations like fluid over load, renal failure etc. Blood pressure medication are to be taken regularly and not only when the pressures are high, along with this fluid restriction and salt restriction are needed, but the amount to be taken can be decided after your cardiologist examines. Urine out put, fluid intake, serum protein levels should be checked as derangement can cause swelling in the body and in turn accumulation of fluid in lungs causing shortness of breath with minimum exertion. I would recommend that you consult a cardiologist for further assistance on this. Best.
