I had my first root canal done about 6 months ago and now the dentist is recommending a crown. It feels fine, so I was wondering do all root canals have to have a crown?
front teeth may not need crowns but molars should always have one. removing the nerve weakens the tooth making it brittle and easier to break or fracture. molars take a lot of pressure and need the added protection of a crown. it has nothing to do with how your tooth feels.
