How long to recover from wisdom tooth removal?

I am only getting one wisdom tooth out, my lower left tooth on Saturday. I have an infection so I need to get it out as soon as I can. It's partially erupted where half of it is buried under gum and some of it is sticking out. For the dentist, they are going to put me under local anesthesia. But i'm worried about the aftermath and all the pain and bleeding thats going to take place. In my case where I'm only getting one partially erupted tooth out with local anesthesia, what do you think the recovery is going to be like? When should the bleeding and pain go away? I was planning to go out of town a day after the surgery but I'm afraid its going to be harder to deal with if I'm not at home. What are all the things I need to do on the first day after I get it out? Please include any other tips and advice you have, thanks!

Hi there, thanks for your answer. Yeah, my infection is gone and I kinda want to just not remove it out right now because I'm anxious about getting them out. But I know I still should. Can you tell me your experience the first day they took it out? How long did it stop to bleed? Thanks for the help

Hi and welcome. I had both of mine extracted at the same time and you might consider getting both out now to save money. Talk to your doctor about this. the procedure is not big deal. they will give you some pain meds mixed with anti swelling agent. Since they were so far back in you mouth it really dosent affect ordinary eating.
A few days later youll be ok.
