I just had a root canal on molar & they now say I need surgery

Well actually the first time they were able to get 3 roots out but the dentist said the 4th root was calcified & she had me come back the next week so she could try again to take it out but said she couldn't since it was calcified and curved. So she is sending me to an Endodontics.

My question is can anybody tell me what likely procedure I will have.Will it be an apicoectomy? I've had that before for one tooth that had repeated root canals.

It could well be an apicectomy or the endodontist might perform other endodontic treatments including dividing the tooth in half, or even removing the calcified root.

Hope this helps

P.S.

& since my cost is $700 for a re treatment of previous root canal therapy
and an Apicoectomy is $580 I rather just go ahead with the apicoectomy since as a single parent I don't want to keep shelling out $ to have the re treatment fail & then have to fork over more $ for the apicoectomy

{as it is after I get this done I will need to have a crown lengthening before I get the crown }
