RAPID TOOTH DECAY

9 months ago I went to the dentist to get a root canal. At this time i was instructed to start taking better care of my teeth. with that said since then i have been brushing after every meal, flossing twice a day and using a flouride treatment(ACT) however, my teeth are starting to decay faster than normal. My last dental visit a month ago I had no cavities on my left side however I looked today and number 17 has a black spot on it as well as bad decay on the OD area. my gums are swollen and sore. and the teeth where I just got my rooth canal the gums are swollen around the crown and my mouth is just sore. What is this. I'm do everything i can to save my teeth. What more can i do? please help me!!

all visual black spots are not cavities. your gums could be sore and swollen due to over zealous brushing. a soft brush with a gentle massaging stroke. scrubbing hard can destroy enamel and cause injury to your gums. scottma is correct go back to the dentist. have the crown checked and have the dentist show you the proper way to brush and floss.

Gum swelling and soreness around a crown is commonly asociated overcontoured or ill fitting margin of a crown.Going back to your dentist is advised.
