Hi.....seeing blood while brushing is common with gingivitis, and bleeding can occur at other times as well. You really need to get your teeth cleaned to remove the plaque build-up so your gums can heal. Once you get them cleaned, brush at least 2 times a day, floss at night and use a mouthwash. Always use a soft toothbrush and brush gently, our teeth don't need to be "scrubbed" and brushing too aggressively is hard on the gums and can cause some bleeding and inflammation. Gingivitis if left untreated can loosen our teeth as it pushes the gums away from the teeth. This is easy to treat and will get your mouth and gums in a healthier state. Something else to think of is that since plaque is food that had become lodged between our teeth and gums it carries a bad odor with it, just another reason you want to get your teeth cleaned. Everyone gets this to some degree and it's just from not brushing thoroughly. We often rush through our brushings and it doesn't take much for plaque to develop. Nothing to worry about but you don't want to let this go. I hope this helps and take care.
