Numb chin, lip & now not able to move lip

I had my wisdom teeth taken out because they were impacting my lower jaw. It happened in November 2011. I had a numb chin and lip after that and never regained it back. Now my left side of my lip that it had the numbness is now not able to move down or to the side. I basically have a lopsided smile.

Why did it do this? Can I get it fixed?

I would go to a neurologist and have this problem get checked out. I doubt your new problem is related to the old problem, but you never know. It sounds like Bells Palsy or something related. Good Luck.

Pharmacologic management by amitryptline and /or gabapentin may help resume normal nerve function. Seeing a neurologist or Orofacial pain specialist who is experienced in traumatic trigeminal neuropathy is advised.
