my niedce goes to her mental health clinic tomorrow i am going with her i will ask her if there is any way i can qualify for the effexor. my niece gets hers meds free.they give her more than she needs. mandy876
Next time you see doctor for a prescription make sure they put Effexor and not Venlafaxine on it. That way you will get brand Effexor. One doctor I saw was very reluctant to do that, but I insisted, and he could not refuse. I certainly noticed a huge difference in Effexor and the generic form. When I was withdrawing I did have to go onto the generic as it comes in tablet form which I could then cut up.
Hope you can get the real Effexor, and I am glad you are feeling so much better on it. It would be nice if you could get your meds free too.
Take care.
hi hope you are still doing ok. i cant believe how much better i felt taking the real effexors. i was actually getting tom be happy again. my appetite increased. i was getting hungry all the time. problems were not even bothering me.i got to get the real effexors. my niece goes to her doctor tomorrow i will see if they have a program i can geton. she geets hers meds free. i am glad to hear from you. mandy876
i really did mean my venlafaxine. when i took her effexors took about 4 days and i felt good for the first time in i dont know when. i woke up during the night hungry. and i did not gett full. my doctor has been pressuring me to gain weight. now since i had to go back on the venlafaxine i am feeling nauseaous and my head is hurting. I am going to call my doctor and talk to his nurse to see what they can do. thank you but i dont think my insurance will approve it. they only pay for generics. tammy goes to her HMR weednesday i am going to ask her doctor if there is any way i can apply for help witth my meds. thank you for being here for me.
Good catch Paxiled! That's what I get for reading so fast!
i messed up it is venlafaxine/ the cimitadine is tagamet. neither one of these worj as well as the original. mandy876
Cimetidine is a stomach acid suppressant. So I'm confused. Generic Effexor is venlaxafine. Is that what you meant?
Your doc would have to write "brand medically necessary" on your script, and then your insurance would likely cover it. Ask him/her about it. A lot of people do just fine on the generic, but many also notice a much bigger improvement with the brand name meds.
Good luck!!
Having said that, I am now off the medication.
