Follow-up: As of today, 9/18/2009, my BP has gone back to normal (consistently 120/70) Amazing. Only trade off is now I've been having major headaches, that have me going to ERs and Neurologists. I'm betting it's just withdrawals... Anyway, looks like my BP issues were definitely drug induced
Lexapro and Cymbalta both seem to jack up my blood pressure. I always had perfect readings 120/70 50hr On Cymbalta, I'm LUCKY to get 135/80, but often have gotten readings closer to 159/115. Scary as hell. I just quit taking Cymbalta 11 days ago because of this, and my systolic is down but the diastolic is still wanting to hover around 90... I was wondering how long I could expect this to last after discontinuing.. It doesn't look like this forum is doctor moderated though... :(
I took cymbalta a few years ago...I don't remember it raising my blood pressure...but then I don't remember too much since I slept most of the 8 weeks I took it. I had to stop because I never adjusted to cymbalta
Several years back I was on effexor, and my blood pressure skyrocketed. My Dr. wanted mean to taper off of them, but I was so scared,i just stopped cold turkey. Later on, I tried cymbalta, pretty much the same feeling. I quit those after taking them for 5 days. Too scary for me.
