Change from Seroxat to Wellburtin.

I have been "clean" from Seroxat (SSRI med) in 7 days, and I like to start on Wellburtin. My doctor said I should be "clean" for 14 days, but I cant make that.
Sorry about childish english.
Hope you can give me an answer.

Thank you, N

I'm not sure what you mean by "clean."  Paxil, or Seroxat, is very very hard for most people to stop taking without withdrawal problems, so you taper off of it as slowly as you need to.  But if you've stopped and you feel fine, this drug was out of your system completely by the 2d day after quitting altogether.  It's not the drug being in your system that is the problem, it's how the brain reacts to the drug being out of your system.  So the term "clean" isn't really the issue, it's probably more that your doctor wants to make sure you don't start having withdrawal symptoms, or at least that's my guess.  Look, whenever you have a doctor who is being cautious with your health, bless your lucky starts and go with it, don't fight it.

And let me add, not all ssris leave the system in the same period of time -- some leave very quickly, such as Paxil and Luvox.  Some leave quickly.  I'm not all that up on the new ones that have come out the last few years, but the only one I know of that lasts a long time in the body is Prozac, which takes about a month to completely leave the system -- it is thought that is why fewer people complain about stopping Prozac than the other ssris.  But again, when you have a doc who is being cautious with your health, let the doctor do that.  It's a blessing.
