On Zeldox (antipsychotic) and feeling faint and weak between 11 and 4pm

Hi,
I'm on 60 mg of zeldox (an antipsychotic) morning and night (120 mg / day). I've been feeling faint, off balance, tired and weak during the middle of the day.. between 11 am and 4pm, which kind of messes up my day. I've been taking Zeldox with the guidance of a dr for about 3 months. I've been looking at my diet and tried friut and protien in the form of cooked eggs but this has only helped slightly. Does anybody have any suggestions for me. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

There are other anti psychotics with no where near the same side effects, unless your's was hard to treat. Is it Depression w/psychotic breaks or some other diagnosis?

Hi. I am also taking Zeldox. It's my 8th month on this medication. It all started with insomnia and taking zapeclone and clonazepam to help to sleep on it for about a month and half, but with time the side effects wore off. I was also taking vitamins in the morning - like Centrum to give my brains enough minerals and still do.

I could hadrly stay awake in the beginning with 60 mg during the day and 60 mg at night, so my doctor and I switched my dose to 40 mg in the morning and 80 mg in the evening. If you count 120 mg/day and 24 hrs/day, It's 5mg every hour. So you can have your morning dose before 11:30 am with your breakfast and the evening dose at 7:30 or 8:30 with a yogourt after dinner. I have lost my period and I am urinating more then before. I have also gained weight - 10 kg in 8 months and it's ongoing. I guess you have to exercise if you are on this medication. I think of trying to get off it, but I am very scared to try. I think it will be rather difficult. On the positive side, it is a great medication for pshisophrenia. I was able to read again and attend classes and go back to work for 4 hrs a day. I can't do more because my eyes get teary and I get very tired. When I got sick, I had 9 hours of sound hallucinations and Respiradone did not help much to clear my mind of paranoia. Zeldox did. It still works. It is a good medication.

How are you feeling now? What ilness do you have? Were you able to get off it? Did you reach that with a substitute medication? I am thinking your dose of 160 mg might have been just too high. Sincerely,

I have recently been put on Zeldox, it was built up rather quickly to 120 mg, and a week later 160 mg a day. I experienced the same thing, but also had hormonal disturbancies. It is advisable to google Zeldox and look at the side effects and discuss these with your doctor. Most of these medications come with side effects. Some of mine were severe diarrhoe, skin rashes, feeling faint, tired and weak, hormonal disturbancies (no period, lactating), trembling.

I have now gone off Zeldox (this is day 1) and I have been shaking and trembling for the last 16 hours or so.

Discuss with your doctor whether the dose your on is right for you, and consider for yourself what you find more important, feeling well physically and being mentally unstable, or the other way around. Maybe once your dose is lessened a bit the side effects fade.
