It's all my fault

Yesterday my brother took my 14 year old cocker spaniel, Sandy, and had her put to sleep.

I agree with the above posters. 14 is a very long life for a pet. You did everything you could for her. I'm so sorry for your loss.

I have to agree. You had to have done something right for her to live that long.  It's not your fault.

Any time you have a dog that lives to 14 you did everything right.  Peace.

Sweetie, 14 is pretty old for a cocker.  I'm sure you're being overly hard on yourself.  Losing a pet is so so hard,.  You're grieving...allow yourself to feel the emotions, and try not to beat yourself up.

Putting our pets down is the kindest thing we could do for them when it's time..truly.  It's selfless, and puts their quality of life first, over our emotions and our attachment to them.  Many people will keep their pets around, even when their quality of life is gone basically.  Because they cannot let them go.  That's tough.  At least you did right by your pup.

Hang in there...you're in my thoughts.

I couldn't finish my post. Sandy was my little girl but I couldn't take time for her. Her life declined because of me
