Lexapro for high anxiety and depression

In the last 4 months I have been experiencing anxiety attacks, muscle spasms, and some depression.
All due to middle age divorce and death in family,  Has anyone had experience with Lexapro, by MD,
is going to put me on a low dose 5 MGS to start.  Have taken Prozac but that tends to be a excitable
and maniac.  Appreciate any info for start..........

can really help,differs per person though so you really need to just try to see what it does or doesnt do for you.lily

Some meds actually stimulate people.  It doesn't make sense to give someone something that will stimulate them if they are already extremely anxious.

Not sure about the med but the starting dose sounds OK.  Start low and build up.  You could try searching some of the old posts on the mental health expert forum (by Dr Gould) or the mood disorders expert forum.  I think the mood disorders expert forum doctor is having trouble with his forum at present.  But he should be able to answer your question too.
