I also have bipolar disorder, and mine is ultra-rapid cycling. There are those of us who develop such a severe form of it that we can cycle every day. I have been known to change my mood in the middle of a session with my therapist.

It is possible to experience both mania and depression and the same time- called a mixed episode.

It's not common, but it does happen. Getting medicated right away will start you on your road to recovery. Seek professional help immediately.

If you wait, you'll only get worse. Mental illness is a progressive disease. The longer you wait, the worse you'll get and the harder it is to treat. Start treatment now, and get a jump on it. Don't wait, act now.

You can do this, and you can do it successfully.

Best wishes.

The thing is you don't feel right. Guessing is not a good idea. I needed to see someone and did not know where to go so I went online to the Psychology Today magazine website. They have an excellent "find a doctor" section which shows each psychologist or psychiatrists specialty, insurance and locates one in your area.
Best wishes, feel better.

If i was you, i would look up the possibility of Borderline personality disorder. Bipolar is normally has mania that has to last at least 1 week, hypomania has to be 4 days long and depression has to be 2 weeks long to be diagnosed according to my psychologist. I have been diagnosed with bipolar 1and started getting unwell at 13 years old. Anything is possible so i do suggest you go to your local doctor and ask to be referred to a psychologist or psychiatrist to get a proper diagnoses.

I would be reluctant to diagnose you but I can tell you the facts I know.  Usually bi-polar becomes onset before you reach 50.  However if you have been experiencing these symptoms for a long time like 5-10 years it could be possible.  I would start seeing someone as I told you earlier.  If nothing else get your stuff together and find a way to the emergency room.  Ask a neighbor, ask a passer by, ask anybody.  You have seemed to be in a worse state now.

I do feel you will not turn to help when you are manic, or more likely hypomanic.  You really want the depression to stop.  The thing is you need to get treatment whether you are too happy or too sad.  What goes up must come down.....Good Luck
