You know it is strange how different medications work on different people. For example you say Effexor is energising, whereas I find it calming. Prozac was the worse for me, could not settle at all. Worse I had, and yet it helps others.
Try the Paxil, worked for me, much less energizing than Wellbrutrin, Prozac and Effexor..
Thanks, I just started it and still have some side effects from Remeron. Yesterday was better, today anxiety upon getting up. Any side effects I should know about? I got frequent bladder infections when I was on it before. The doc said to drink a lot of water. Thanks for your reply,

Nortriptlyne (Pamalar) is a second generation tricyclic. It's the active metabolite of amiltriptyline. Yes it can be very helpful for anxiety. You take it at night before bedtime as it is sedative and it puts you to sleep. Yes good outcome for anxiety and depression sufferers and less side-effects than the first generation tricyclics.

Pamalar?? It is helping with anxiety. Any tips on getting out of the house?
I haven't tried Paxil. I have an appointment with a new doc on Monday.Hopefully there is a med out there that will not cause me to jump out of my skin. I am seriously thinking of not taking anything as the withdrawl from Remeron is horrible. I will let the chips fall where they may and I'll end up dead or suffering in a corner.
I was on zoloft a while ago. It stopped working. I am fearful of the with drawl symptoms they are horrible. My fear is that one doc suggested ect and I don't want to go there.
I had terrible anxiety, and am now on 150mg Effexor XR. All the anxiety and panics have gone and I feel relaxed. No anxiety, no panics. Magic!!
SNRIs can be quite stimulating for someone with anxiety but yes it can work too.
Did you ever try Paxil? It's a potent SSRI with good outcome for anxiety. Zoloft is a less potent one with good outcome for anxiety too. Also some tricyclic can be good for anxiety as you take them at night and they have sedative effects.
Everyone can react differently to drugs, one drug doesn't fit all like one size doesn't fit all.
