Something Wrong, not sure what...help maybe?

Hi, I'm an 18 year old female. Since I was about 15 I've been having weird mood changes. Usually I'm perfectly fine, but sometimes...maybe once every couple of months I become really upset and cry all the time. I used to be a cutter, but I stopped that..about a year ago and starting writing as an outlet. It's helped, but I still get the urges and lately I've been thinking thats the only thing that's going to make me feel better. Mainly, because it did the job before. I really don't want to go down that road again. Therefore, I'm asking for advice and maybe a personal diagnosis as to what may be wrong with me? I've never seen a doctor about this before..
thank you.

Unfortunately we can't diagnose you here, but I would say it's important that you get a referral to a psychiatrist. Cutters use the cutting as an outlet to feel pain or release pain. Even though you've stopped, you are still getting cycles of depression. See your family doctor and get a referral - the sooner you do that, the easier it will be for you.

I am a 42 yr old male and I have done some cutting myslef, only because I didn't want to feel the emotional pain I go through.  I am learning to do some journaling and just write down thoughts as they go through my mind.  I do see a tgherapist on a regular basis.  I am also taking some medication to help with muy illnesses suchas depression, anxiety or panic attacks.  I do some natural healing techniques suchas taking daily walks around the block or to the market, just to be away from the apt complex.  I also listen to sme music enjoy such as R&B, Rock or some Hip Hop.  Basically anything to just keep my mind occupied.  I find it most healing to just talk to a friend whether its on or offline about anything, within reason.  Hope this helps
