When can I stop my Prozac and Wellbutrin?

I have been on antidepressants since I was 8, and am now 17. I would love to be off of them, but I'm worried about "relapse." I hate this depression thing--is it really physiological? Or could I beat it with my head? My psychiatrist isn't good with answers to stuff that challenges her treatment methods..

Check out www.***********.org.  My son, age 21, on antidepres. since age 9 (he is on prozac and wellbutrin) was not interested in tryin this.  My friend with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is trying it.  Good luck and be sure to check wth your dr. and wean yourself off no matter what!

I would not suggest coming off your meds without the proper support.  If you truly want to be off them discuss this with your psychiatrist and ask him/her to help you wean down off them slowly.  This way you can correctly be weaned off them and monitored carefully in case you do have a relapse or withdrawals.
