Anti depression medicines

My mother is 67yrs old, recently the doctor advised her to take both Serta 25 and stalopam plus, both are anti depression medicines. But her blood pressure is normal. can some one help me know why she had been prescribed two anti depression medicines.

I don't know why your mother has been prescribed two anti-depressants but I would advise taking them unless absolutely necessary try other
holistic avenues first as counselling etc.
After only two months we become addicted to these tablets and coming
off them is far from easy knowing what I know now I think it's awful people are not warned that they are addictive. It is especially harder for older people to withdraw as the symptoms are very un-pleasant. If it was my mum I'd advise against taking them and support her emotionally.

sometimes one antidepressant may not be enough so the doc decides according to the severity of the case .... hope this helps

they diagnose two cause one may counter act the side affects of the other and boost the original medication
